The Kick-off Meeting for the “Development and Demonstration Promotion of Smart Equipment for Moderate-Scale Poultry Farming” Was Successfully Held.

On June 16, 2026, the kick-off meeting for the Qingdao Key Technology Research and Industrialization Demonstration Project, “Development and Demonstration Promotion of Smart Equipment for Moderate-Scale Poultry Farming,” was successfully held at Big Herdsman. Collaborative units including China Agricultural University, Shandong Agricultural University, Qingdao Agricultural University, and the Qingdao Animal Husbandry Workstation attended the meeting.

During the kick-off meeting, Technical Director Professor Zheng Weichao and Project Director Dr. Li Xiusong further outlined the project’s implementation background, technical roadmap, and the specific task indicators for each participating unit.

Associate Professor Wang Yang from China Agricultural University, Professor Yan Yinfa from Shandong Agricultural University, Professor Tong Zhimin from Qingdao Agricultural University, and Senior Veterinarian Hao Xiaojing from the Municipal Animal Husbandry Workstation delivered reports and shared insights on their respective task directions.The reported task directions included “Key Technologies for Low-Carbon Poultry Houses and Precise Environmental Control in Moderate-Scale Poultry Farming,” “Research and Development of Smart Poultry Feeding Technology and Egg Collection Robots,” “Development of Smart Inspection and Disease Early Warning Equipment for Moderate-Scale Poultry Farming,” and “Creation, Integration, and Demonstration Promotion of a Smart Management and Control Platform for Scaled Poultry Farming”.

Technical experts Shen Wei and Huang He addressed issues such as insufficient representativeness of demonstration sites, potential delays in progress, weak coordination, and unsmooth transformation. They proposed measures including dynamic updating, milestone supervision, collaborative sharing, and rapid transformation to ensure the successful acceptance of the project and fully guarantee its high-standard implementation.

Financial expert Zhao Zhuming addressed issues such as poor fund matching and execution, insufficient output of results, and weak monitoring and collaboration. He suggested strengthening fund management, clarifying indicators for patents and papers, improving performance demonstration, and deepening corporate cooperation to ensure the high-quality advancement of the project.

Senior engineers Gao Weiwei, Yin Xianzheng, Zhao Guanghui, and Guo Ling from the Big Herdsman R&D department attended the meeting, engaging in in-depth exchanges with research institutes and universities to build a deep practice of industry-university-research integration.

Finally, Technical Director Professor Zheng Weichao made comprehensive deployments regarding the project’s construction tasks and detailed the technical implementation content for each stage.He emphasized the importance of technical and financial management compliance, unified the technical implementation roadmap, and ensured the project’s completion with both high quality and efficiency.
