Chief Scientist Zhang Junmin of the National Layer Industry Technology System Visits Big Herdsman for Inspection and Exchange

On July 17, Zhang Junmin, Chief Scientist of the National Egg-Laying Poultry Industry Technology System and Director of the Beijing Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, together with Wang Hao, Secretary-General of the Chief Scientist’s Office of the National Egg-Laying Poultry Industry Technology System, and an expert delegation, visited Big Herdsman for field research and exchange.

The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Sha Jianlin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director General of Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Mr. Zhou Wei, Director of the Qingdao Animal Husbandry Workstation, Ms. Hao Xiaojing, Director of the Qingdao Comprehensive Test Station of the National Layer Industry Technology System, and Mr. Liu Huchuan, Head of the Comprehensive Division. Dr. Li Xiusong, Vice President of Big Herdsman and Dean of the Intelligent Livestock and Poultry Breeding Research Institute, provided a comprehensive introduction and guided the tour throughout the visit.

The delegation visited in turn the company’s development history exhibition hall, intelligent equipment and product showroom, the automated production workshop, and the Key Laboratory of Smart Livestock and Poultry Farming Facilities and Equipment, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. During the visit, Dr. Li Xiusong provided a detailed introduction to the company’s R&D of complete intelligent layer farming systems, intelligent manufacturing processes, and the key technological breakthroughs achieved by the laboratory in the fields of intelligent and digital livestock and poultry farming equipment, comprehensively showcasing Big Herdsman’s core products and innovative technologies that support the transformation and upgrading of the modern layer industry.

Chief Scientist Zhang Junmin, together with the research team and industry regulatory representatives, attentively observed various farming equipment and engaged in in-depth discussions on key technologies for large-scale and intelligent layer farming, industry pain points, and industry-academia-research collaborative innovation. The delegation fully acknowledged Big Herdsman’s industry advantages and technological expertise in the R&D and manufacturing of intelligent farming equipment.

Chief Scientist Zhang’s visit has further strengthened the communication bridge between research institutions, local animal husbandry regulatory authorities, and leading farming equipment manufacturers. Moving forward, both parties will continue to deepen industry-academia-research collaboration, conduct joint technological research aimed at the green and efficient development of the layer industry, and collectively advance the continuous improvement of intelligent layer farming equipment in China.
